Community Spotlight: K-9 Protective Ballistic Vests Donated to Bradenton Police Department

Posted

BRADENTON – On Tuesday August 26, 2014, Mr. Ray Hubbert, of the Retired Law Enforcement Association of Southwest Florida presented Chief of Police Michael Radzilowski of the Bradenton Police Department two K-9 Protective Ballistic Vests, which will be worn by K-9 Mac and K-9 Riggs.

Officer Jason Taulbee is the assigned handler for K-9 Mac and Officer Matthew Palmer is the assigned handler for K-9 Riggs. The presentation was held within the Bradenton Police Department’s Training Room.

The Retired Law Enforcement Association of Southwest Florida raises funds through fundraisers, and by contributions from compassionate and caring citizens and businesses. The association has already donated over (38) vests (bullet and stab resistant) to over (14) law enforcement agencies. The association believes that K-9s provide safety to law enforcement officers by consistently performing their assignment with no fear, and therefore should be provided protection through the use of a properly fitted protective ballistic vest.

The purchase of these vests was made possible by the generous donations from Ms. Leslie Hall and Mr Henry Schneiderman.
