Community Spotlight: Katie Knight Appointed to CareerEdge Funders' Board

SARASOTA – United Way Suncoast’s Sarasota Area President, Katie Knight, has been appointed to the funders’ board of CareerEdge Funders Collaborative. In this role, Knight will work with fellow board members and CareerEdge leadership to continue to develop the workforce in the Manatee-Sarasota region.

“Katie Knight’s passion and history for advancing charitable endeavors and goodwill in the Sarasota community is exemplary,” said Mireya Eavey, Executive Director of CareerEdge. “Because her values in workforce development align with ours, it’s an honor to have her on the CareerEdge funders’ board.”

The mission of CareerEdge is to provide an exceptional labor force to the region’s growing industries by leveraging community assets and forming high-performing workforce partnerships, including one with United Way Suncoast.

Supporting workforce development is a key component in United Way Suncoast’s objective to break the cycle of generational poverty. United Way Suncoast supports programs, including CareerEdge, that help adults gain and maintain family-sustaining employment so they can achieve financial stability and ultimately enjoy a better quality of life.
