Community Spotlight: Local Montessori Students to Present at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland

Posted

BRADENTON – Six students from Center Montessori School will be travelling to Geneva in June to present at the Montessori Model United Nations. Students from all over the world will be participating in this amazing forum. Each school is assigned a country to represent.

The students are given specific issues the country is currently dealing with to research. They then prepare a paper and a speech to present highlighting what has been done so far to address the issue and action plans for addressing it in the future.

The Opening Ceremonies for this is in the United Nations building in Geneva. The Center Montessori students have spent 6 months researching Guatemala and writing position papers.

They are now beginning their speeches. It is an amazing opportunity for the students and will hopefully open their eyes to world issues.
