BRADENTON – Manatee County’s Central Library is pleased to announce an Open House in the library’s second floor computer area.

On Wednesday July 16, 2014 starting at 5:00 p.m., the library staff will officially acknowledge the generous donation in memory of Gerald and Gail Sweeney that made possible the purchase of twenty new state-of-the-art computer tables. The donation also enabled the library to refinish and reupholster most of the library’s public seating.

Staff will be on hand to provide technical assistance for electronic devices and will be providing demonstrations of some of our online databases. Light refreshments will be served.

Gerald Sweeney was a life-long supporter of libraries and a well-known patron of the Manatee libraries. He contributed funds in the past to help the library make online subscriptions available to the public. He always had a kind word and a joke ready for the staff.

The Central Library is located at 1301 Barcarrota Blvd., in Bradenton, Florida. For more information, please call the library at 941-748-5555
