Community Spotlight: Manatee Habitat Welcomes New Board Members

BRADENTON – Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the addition of two new Board members to the Board of Directors. Michele M. Vickers is Vice President and Specialty Asset Manager in Real Estate for US Trust in Sarasota and brings to the Board over 20 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to her involvement with Manatee Habitat, she was an active volunteer for Habitat in Chattanooga, TN.    

Barry Berman is a CPA and was Chief Financial Officer for twenty years for Brown Rudnick Berlack Israels LLP in Boston, MA.  

He is a construction volunteer with Manatee Habitat and also serves on the Board of Educators for Social Responsibilities in Cambridge, MA.

Manatee County Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical, volunteer-based organization dedicated to building homes in partnership with low-income families who need safe, decent, affordable housing.

The Manatee County Habitat for Humanity Affiliate was chartered in the summer of 1994 and has built 109 homes with the help of donors, families and volunteers. Habitat for Humanity houses are sold to qualified partner families for noprofit and financed with affordable, interest-free loans that are financed by Habitat.
