Posted

BRADENTON – TreeUmph! Adventure Course, Southwest Florida’s first treetop obstacle course, is thrilled to partner with the Safe Children Coalition and offer a free day of play to local children between the ages of 10 and 16 in the foster system.

On Tuesday, July 1st Coalition will spend a day at the adventure course as a part of the “Camp for Champions” program, a three-day special summer camp allowing the children to experience a range of exciting recreational activities and enjoy a catered lunch, all free of charge.

“Through ‘Camp for Champions’ these children are exposed to adventures and activities they would not normally have the resources to enjoy,” said Michelle Dieter of the Safe Children Coalition. “Our day at TreeUmph! is set to be a memorable time that will open their eyes to a new world of nature and science, and let them know that there is more to life than the hardships they have faced.”

TreeUmph! Adventure Course is participating in “Camp for Champions” by providing the children with free Junior Tickets, which offer a perfect introduction to elevated maneuvering and ZIP lining through the park’s beautiful canopy of pine and live oaks. Junior Tickets include a variety of challenges with net walkways, hanging barrels, monkey bridges, rope swings and more on the Climb-On Course, Scramble Course, Ascend Course and ZIP lines. “We are excited to have the opportunity to meet these children and show them a wonderful time filled with adventure and fun,” said Kathy Corr, co-owner of TreeUmph! Adventure Course. “We want to make them feel special and give them an amazing experience that lets them be free to be a child without worries.”

Safe Children Coalition is a not-for-profit organization that provides social work services to children who come into foster care because they were abused, neglected or abandoned by their parents. The organization currently serves over 1,200 children in Sarasota and Manatee counties. This is the third year of the “Camp for Champions” summer program., a team of staff members and 43 children from the Safe Children.
