Posted

BRADENTON – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast has received a $30,000 gift from Wells Fargo to support its one-to-one school-based mentoring program. This generous contribution allows Big Brothers Big Sisters to continue its mission of providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

“We applaud the financial leadership that Wells Fargo demonstrates every day in our communities,” said Joy Mahler, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast. “This investment in youth will yield outstanding outcomes and is vital to the work we do.”

The organization relies on funding to carefully match at-risk youth with volunteer mentors so that the relationships yield positive results in the areas of academic performance, avoidance of risky behavior, delinquency and socio-emotional competencies such as self confidence and social relationships.

“We recognize the important work that Big Brothers Big Sisters has consistently performed in our communities,” said Debra Faulk, Community Affairs Officer for Wells Fargo and member of the organization’s corporate board. “So we are proud to award this grant which will enable Big Brothers Big Sisters to further their mission.”
