There were 86 letters of opposition to the rezone located on Cortez Road at 4404 110th St. Ct. West because of its attachment to the F.I.S.H preserve. The rezone established that instead of two residential units, there can now be a single-unit commercial business.
The builder will have to meet state wetland codes on the ecologically sensitive area and plans to raise the building on stilts with parking underneath. The owner said he is open to allowing the fish preserve to buy the property if they give him a fair price.
After this decision, he can still sell the land to the preserve. Commissioners McClash and Chappie opposed the resolution.
