David Wayne Jessee, Jr., 72, of Bradenton, FL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at his home. He was born in Washington DC, to the late David W. and Betty S. Jessee. His family moved to Kingsport, TN, when he was an infant.
David earned a B.S. and M.S. in Mathematics from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. He worked on his PhD at Clemson University. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He won the NISOD Excellence Award while teaching at Manatee Community College. David taught mathematics at college level for 30 years. In 2007 he retired from Manatee Community College. He was a member of West Bradenton Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janeen Gregg. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Whitman Jessee; brother-in-law, Terry Whitman (Terri); nieces, Tina Whitman, Holly Whittemore (J), Kerry Prescott (Ishon) and his great nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held in both Florida and Tennessee at a later date. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209, is in charge of the arrangements.
