David Morford

David Byron Morford of Parrish, Florida passed away March 16th, 2025 in Bradenton. He was 87-years-old. David was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 24, 1937 to Dale David Morford and Alice Rosina (Glosser) Morford. He was an only child.

David grew up in Beaver, Pennsylvania where he attended school and was involved in Boy Scouts where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. David studied business at nearby Geneva College and in 1960, obtained a B.S. Degree in Business Administration. While there, he met Judith Allen. David and Judith were married June 16, 1962 in her hometown of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. David served in the Army National Guard.

After his commitment he began a career at Union Carbide Corporation which took him to Cleveland, Ohio, Birmingham, Alabama, and to New York City. In 1969, he went work for Babcock & Wilcox in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. David was active in church. He served as head of the church board, became a lay pastor, an ordained teacher, and an Elder. He was a well-loved teacher of the Scriptures.

David also served as a school board member at Beaver Valley Christian Academy where both of his daughters attended. David had a life-long passion for cars, gardening, and at one time, was one of only 50 NRA instructors in the United States. He taught gun safety, and marksmanship to hundreds of individuals.
David is survived by his wife of 62-years, Judy of Parrish, Florida; daughter, Susan (Moody) Whiddon of Bradenton, Florida; daughter, Amy (Scott) Walvoord, of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by three granddaughters.

Services will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 2:00pm at North River Church, 5517 Fort Hamer Road, Parrish, FL 34219. Memorial gifts may be made to North River Church, Salvation Army, or Samaritan's Purse.
