Dennis Anthony Warren passed on February 15, 2024. In 2021, Dennis was preceded into heaven by his wife, Lourdes (Babs) Roca Warren, after almost 55 years of marriage. He also was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Warren, mother, Elvira Martinez, and two half-sisters, Aloma Mixon and Tammy Bartlett. Dennis is survived by his daughters, Luci Warren Hartmann (Glenn) and Mary Ann Warren Crabtree (Jeffrey), his grandchildren, Danielle Alt (Taylor), Marc Hartmann (Taryn), and Patrick Crabtree (Katie), and his great grandchildren, Katherine Crabtree, Theodore Alt, Connor Crabtree, Sloane Hartmann and Julia Alt. He is also survived by his stepmother, Carolyn Shumate, half-brother, Benjamin Warren, eight Roca siblings and their spouses and lots of nieces and nephews.
Dennis was born in Manila, Philippines on September 25, 1946. He was hired at GTE (Verizon) in 1972 and retired in 2002. Dennis was a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do, played the guitar and bass, was part of a band in the Philippines in his youth, was in a Country Western band in the 80's in Bradenton, and a longtime member of the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church (OLQM) choir for many years. Dennis was a past Grand Knight for the OLQM Knights of Columbus and, along with his beloved wife, was the recipient of the OLQM Family of the Year multiple times. Dennis loved to bowl and to volunteer at OLQM and with the Special Olympics.
Dennis' life will be remembered at a visitation on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 5624 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34207.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 833 Magellan Dr, Sarasota, Fl 34243.
