Dennis Gerald Rice, 66, of Land O' Lakes, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida.
He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, November 11, 1956, to Thomas Rice Jr and Dolores (Chase) Rice.
Dennis grew up running wild on White Oaks Road in Laconia. With his sisters, cousins and other cohorts, Dennis's youth was spent playing in fields, swimming, boating, skiing and any other type of mayhem that struck their fancy.
He spent his life mucking about with cars, boats, motorcycles, snowmobiles, and anything else that was fast. There wasn't much that Dennis couldn't either build or fix. He just had a tremendous knack for mechanical and structural work. Sometimes his ideas were a bit far-flung and just when you thought it would fall through, he would pull it together.
In his prime Dennis was a forced to be reckoned with! An almost larger than life personality that drew people to him. He had a large generous giving heart - he didn't always know how to carry through with that generosity, but the heart was always there.
Dennis will be missed by his children, Thomas, Katherine (Katie) and Madison Rice of Florida and his sisters, Katherine and Priscilla Rice, nephew, Aaron Burns, along with many cousins and old friends.
A family gathering will be held in the spring. If you wish to remember Dennis in some way, please consider a donation to your local Humane Society. He just absolutely loved cats and dogs!
