Donald J. P. Daly

Donald J. P. Daly (Don) went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2026.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Emily and Joseph Daly on May 10, 1939.

Don graduated from State University of New York at Oswego with a BS in Education and completed his graduate work at Hofstra University in Secondary Administration. Don taught Industrial Arts and Photography in Lindenhurst High School and Photography in Massapequa High. Don decided to retire from teaching to pursue a photography career.

After building a successful society photography business photographing many weddings, proms and debutant balls around the world. He moved to Florida in 1989 to retire, but that never happened; he picked up his camera again, this time to photograph the theater arts. It gave him the opportunity to meet and be photographed with many national and international celebrities. Many of these pictures are hanging on his office walls.

Don had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking with his friends.

In retirement, Don learned to love ocean cruising, sailing to many islands in the Caribbean, Alaska and Hawaii.

He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church.

He leaves behind his husband Eddy Zappacosta, former husband Greg Kaspar, sister Pat, several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Don's sense of humor will live on is all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, 10:00AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, 833 Magella Dr., Sarasota, FL 34243.
