Scott passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Bradenton, FL at age 60.

Lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years Collette (nee Slade), daughters Nicole and Alison, his siblings Ginny Gardham (Bob), Pat Campbell (Dave), Cindy, Mike (Patty), Linda Dumont (Rick), Donna, Jim (Cathy), Rosemary (Damon Compton), mother-in-law Jean Slade, sister-in-law Jean-Ann Thompson (Kevin), and Uncle Wayne MacDonald (Pat). He will be sadly missed by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Scott was predeceased by his parents, Reid and Gloria McKenna, and father-in-law Baxter Slade.

Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, in 1966, he was instilled with a love of gardening from his father at an early age. This would later blossom into a passion for growing tropical fruit and collecting over 100 varieties of mangoes, at the family’s Pine Island mango grove. Prior to moving to Florida in 1991, he attended both the University of Prince Edward Island and the Technical University of Nova Scotia studying engineering. Scott was hard working, fun loving, up for cod fishing

adventures in Newfoundland, Caribbean family cruises, and enjoying the natural beauty of PEI. We will miss his competitive spirit, vast general knowledge, love of new technology, key lime pies, watching NHL hockey games together, and amazing summer mango tastings.

Cremation has taken place. A future private family service will be held in Charlottetown, PEI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palma Sola Botanical Park, Bradenton, FL. (see below). Add in memory of Scott McKenna on the memo line.

Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West, Bradenton, Florida, is in charge of arrangements.
