December 9, 1931 - October 14, 2024
Palmetto, Florida - Donna Mae Taylor, born on 12-09-1931 passed to her place in Heaven on October 14, 2024. She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Taylor Hilt, her husband Jim, and her grandson Scott Alexander.
Donna lived an adventurous life. She was an Army veteran, fresh out of high school, where she met James Taylor; her husband of 54 years. As a military wife, she traveled the world while also raising four children who greatly benefited from her wisdom and her Christian example.
During her retirement, Donna became an accomplished artist and was also a mentor to anyone who was fortunate to know her.
She loved doing the daily crossword puzzle, preferably with a grandson, working in the yard, sewing, and reading. She was always busy. "Idle hands are the devil's workshop," was one of her many sayings. Donna loved being active in the Methodist church, participating in the Glory Group and volunteering at the Thrift Store.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Gregory), son Raymond (Lori), daughter Margaret (Paul), and her daughter from a different mother, Mia Castoro. She is also survived by her beloved grandsons-Mason (Catherina), Daniel (Tamina), and Zachary (Shena) and her great-grandchildren-Odin and Orion Taylor.
Her son Raymond, said, "She was the finest person I have ever known." Several others have shared the same sentiment. There was always an extra spot at the dinner table and a bed for whoever needed a meal or a place to sleep. She will be deeply missed as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
Instead of flowers, consider donating to , or the Nature Conservatory. These were two of her many charities. Or do an act of kindness in Donna's name. That would make her smile.
A celebration of life will be held on November 10th at 3:00 p.m. at the Village Improvement Association Hall at 1505 Center Road. Terra Ceia, Fl 34250 All are welcome.
