Doris E. Norwood, 103, passed on February 25, 2025 at home peacefully with her loving family. She was born on June 25, 1921 to Harley and Daisy Douglass in Plymouth, Indiana.

Doris graduated from Cutler High in Indiana. She worked as a Circulating nurse in surgery until February 6, 1944 when she married Marion H.

Norwood in Logansport, IN. After Marion returned from the US Army in Germany (World War II), eventually relocating to Nokomis, Florida in 1954 and then to Bradenton in 1958. They traveled often with their 3 girls visiting parents and family around the country enjoying the National Parks along the way.

She loved music, dancing and skate dancing where she met Marion (husband). She became an avid bowler, bowling in tournaments locally and around the state, she was the secretary for many leagues and was a coach to junior bowlers, a Women's Bowling FL State Delegate as well as being voted into the local Women's Hall of Fame. She loved to collect shells on the beach and especially gardening. She loved spending time with her family and going to lunches, dinners with friends (she had many). She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a Christian believing a Christian is One who doesn't have to remind you of it, but shows it by being a kind, loving, sharing, caring and considerate person.

Predeceased by her Parents. Husband-Marion. Brothers-Robert, Harold, Carl & Laurel. Sisters-Lois & Carol. Grandson-Tony Owen Thompson.

Survived by her Daughters-Gail Avery, Jan Thompson and Terri Norwood(Brian Bevan) all in Bradenton. Grandchildren-Tami Thompson and Christopher Avery. 5 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grand children. Numerous nieces and nephews.

There will not be any service at this point in time. In lieu of flowers-plant flowers, a plant or a tree in her honor.
