Douglas R. Wood, age 78, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on October 12, 2022, at Manatee Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 5, 1943, in Huntingburg, IN to Herschel Wood and Loretta Klee. He was a graduate of St. Mary of the Hisitation School and Berea College in Berea, KY. He married Mary Enfield on November 5, 2001, in Kissimmee, FL. He worked as a machinist in Kentucky for 33 years. Doug loved life to the fullest through boating, tennis, family and friends. He was a big "Wildcat" fan of Ky.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Mary; 3 sisters, (Predeceased ) Jo Lewallen, Connie Stivers and Kay Taylor; children, Dawn (Shelli) Barber and Dena Zechella, Dawn Williams, Todd Williams; six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Family friends and others whose lives Doug touched are invited to Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory, 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West Bradenton, FL 34209. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2022, with Services to follow at 3:00 P.M.
