Douglas Schofield, Sr.

Douglas J. Schofield, Sr. was born May 17, 1942, and passed away quietly on December 15, 2024. Doug was the second of four children of Forrest W. Schofield and Margaret C. Mullen. He was born and raised in Auburn, Massachusetts and moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1976.

He married his wife Angella M. Ortuso in 1966 and had three children: Robin Schofield (Dave), Pamela Eason (Tim) and Douglas Schofield, Jr. Doug served in the US Army and Army Reserve from 1962 - 1970 as a cook and was a courier for FedEx from 1977 - 2002.

Doug loved the warmth of the Florida sun and enjoyed gardening, traveling and most of all his beloved grandchildren: James, Lindsey, Nicholas, Alex, Nathan and Ellie.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, a sister and many nieces and nephews. His favorite saying was the old Irish blessing: May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live. He lived his life to the fullest and left nothing on the field. He will be deeply missed by all.
