During the temporary closure MCAT buses for routes 99, 2, 3, 4 and 9 will pick up and deliver passengers at a temporary location one block south along 13th Street West. The ticket booth and restrooms will remain open at the downtown station during the closure to traffic.

Chad Butzow, Deputy Director of Manatee County Public Works, said a contractor will repair some settling that’s occurred under the road along 13th Street West and 6th Avenue West. The repairs come at no cost to the County, since the issue was identified within the one year of the station’s November, 2012 opening.

“If it’s left unattended, the cracked concrete will continue to collect water and could become a trip hazard,” Butzow said. “This is a warranty repair, and comes at no cost to the County. We’ve coordinated with our vendor on a repair timeframe that will have the least impact on our riders.”
