BRADENTON – The Marauders (19-23) fell 5-1 on Saturday night at McKechnie Field against the North Division leading Dunedin Blue Jays (30-11). Adam Frazier paced the Marauders offense with three hits in four trips to the plate.

Dunedin capitalized on a first-inning error by Eric Wood to plate an unearned run against Chad Kuhl (L, 3-4). Nick Baligod reached on the mishandled grounder and advanced to third on K.C. Hobson’s double to left. Marcus Knecht grounded out to second base to plate the run and give Dunedin a 1-0 lead.

The Marauders responded in the third inning. Jeff Roy dropped down a bunt single off Kendall Graveman (W, 2-1). Roy moved to second on a ground out by Frazier, then scored on a double to left by Max Moroff that knotted the score 1-1.

The Blue Jays took the lead for good in the fifth on Baligod’s bases loaded sacrifice fly. Kuhl kept the score 2-1 until he was lifted with one out in the seventh with the bases loaded. Jhondaniel Medina replaced Kuhl and surrendered a three-run double to Hobson to establish the final margin. Kuhl’s start was his longest of the season, throwing 6 1/3 and striking out a pair in the loss.

Josh Bell’s 10-game hitting streak game to an end in an 0-for-4 game.

Game three of the series is Sunday afternoon at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. The Marauders will send John Kuchno to the hill. First pitch is at 1:00. The game will be broadcast online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
