Edward Matthew Dinan (Ted), 95, passed away on November 22, 2025. He died peacefully at his home in Bradenton, Florida.
Born on July 21, 1930, in West Have, Connecticut, Edward was the son of the late Matthew Dinan and Helen (Hennessy) Dinan. He attended St. Lawrence Grammar School and West Haven High School before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1951. During his Air Force career, he attended the University of Maryland part-time under the USAF Adult Education Program seeking a degree in Business Administration and minor in Education. He served for 20 years: 3 years in Human Resources Field, 3 years as a Management Instructor, 12 years as a Human Resource Systems Supervisor and 2 years with USAF Inspector General's Office.
In 1971, he joined Management, Inc., a consultant firm in Falls Church, VA. In 1973, He joined the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, Department of Justice (now called DEA) as a Human Resource Systems Manager. He was assigned additional duty as Management Instructor for DEA Narcotics Agency Supervisory classes conducted at the University of Maryland. He traveled worldwide to US Embassies and General Council Offices. He set up a computer reporting System for DEA Human Resources.
In 1981 he transferred to the office of the Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services. He served 11 years as manager in Human Resources Computer Systems. He performed special investigations at the discretion of the Secretary. He retired in 1992 with 40 years combined services: USAF and Civil Service.
Edward was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel and Robert and his sister Anne Peters.
He is survived by his wife Joanne (Bilezerian, Hudson) Dinan and his children: Duane of Banks, OR, Randal (Mercedes), Kathleen (David), Laura Karsch all of San Antonio, TX. Robert Hudson (Kathe) of Blandford, MA, David Hudson (Kathy) of Southwick, MA, Tonda Hudson of Westfield, MA, and Jay Bucklin of St. Petersburg, FL. He leaves 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
