Ellen Faye Garza (88) peacefully passed away at home Saturday August 10, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Ellen leaves behind her husband of 67 years, C. Roy Garza, her sons Roy (Ellen), Rick (Frances), David (Jennie), and John, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her younger brother, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends also miss her dearly.
Ellen was born in New Bern, North Carolina on June 29, 1936. She grew up with her loving mother and three brothers in North Carolina. She married her husband in 1956 and they raised their family in North Carolina and Virginia. Ellen and husband Roy moved to Sarasota Florida in 1993. She was a wonderful and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and loyal friend.
Ellen truly lived her life through her unending love and devotion to her loved ones. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being outdoors tending her flowers, feeding and watching the birds and squirrels, reading and listening to music, going to the beach, and shopping. Ellen was always put together and color coordinated everywhere she went.
Though she will be sadly missed, her love and beautiful spirit will remain with us forever.
We will continue to honor Ellen and plan to celebrate her love and life at a later date.
