Elsie Marie King (née Milburn), aged 99, passed away on August 20, 2024, in Bradenton, FL. Born on September 13, 1924, Elsie dedicated much of her life to serving others, both in her professional career and in the military.

Elsie proudly served in the Navy as a Yeoman First Class, a role in which she demonstrated exceptional dedication and skill. Her military service was a significant chapter in her life, reflecting her commitment to duty and country.

Following her service, Elsie continued to impact her community through her role as the Senior Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. Her professionalism and warmth made her a beloved figure among staff and students alike.

Beyond her professional and military contributions, Elsie was an accomplished golfer. She won several club trophies and achieved a golfer's dream by carding a hole-in-one at the Heather Golf and Country Club in Weeki Wachee. Her passion for golf was matched by her skill and sportsmanship on the course.

Elsie's life will be celebrated privately with family in New Jersey and Ohio, as per her wishes. She is survived by her brother Clarence Milburn, three sons: Robert, Jeffrey, and John King and their spouses, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her spirit is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Carl Frederick King, her firstborn son David Frederick King, her parents Flora and Benjamin Settles, and her eight siblings.

Elsie's legacy is marked by her service, love for her family, and zest for life, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
