FCAT Retake Results Released by FDOE

BRADENTON -- Manatee district 12th graders retaking the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test bettered the state average in mathematics when it comes to scoring high enough to qualify for graduation. Students must pass the reading and math portions of the FCAT to graduate from high school.

On the High School FCAT Retake Math Test, 63 students in the 12th grade were assessed in the Manatee District this year. Of the 63 students, 22 percent earned a scale score high enough to meet the graduation requirement in math. Statewide, 7,084 seniors took the FCAT Retake Math Test and 21 percent earned a scale score high enough to meet the graduation requirement in math.

On the High School FCAT Retake Reading Test, 293 students in the 12th grade were assessed in the Manatee County School District this year. Of the 293 students assessed, 14 percent earned a scale score high enough to meet the graduation requirement in reading. Statewide, 22,336 seniors took the FCAT Retake Reading Test and 15 percent earned a scale score high enough to meet the graduation requirement in reading.
