FDOT to hold meeting on island transportation

The Florida Department of Transportation will hold a public workshop on island transportation soon.

The meeting will be about multiple construction projects in the cities of Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, Bradenton Beach and Longboat Key. The public information meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 248 S. Harbor Drive, Holmes Beach.

Examples of improvements include resurfacing the roadway, bridge painting and rehabilitation, sidewalk construction and landscaping. Project personnel will be available to answer questions about the projects as well as questions about impacts to the public.

Construction is expected to continue through spring 2010.
