Fully realizing I'm probably in the minority, I'd like to issue a warning. If your moral compass has not been severely affected by Donald Trump's repeated and continual disparaging of veterans, let me remind you.
Demeaning John McCain, even after he died; referring to deceased veterans as losers and suckers; implying Gold Star families gave him Covid; declaring the Medal of Freedom he gave to a donor was better than the Medal of Honor because those recipients were badly wounded or dead; and most disgustingly saying it looked bad for him if seen with amputees. Also, don't forget his multiple draft deferments (bone spurs?) that magically disappeared when his draft-ability ended.
On page 650 of Project 2025, pertaining to the VA: "The next Administration should explore how (disability) reviews could be accelerated to target significant cost savings from revising disability ratings for future claimants while preserving them fully or PARTIALLY (emphasis added) for existing claimants. Read that again! This applies to you, and even your children!
Trump says-"Save money. I don't care how; maybe you should/could take money from disabled vets-they're damaged goods anyway". Do you see Cruz et al having the guts to say no?
Maybe this possibility is contributing to the enlistment shortages. The younger generation is smart!

President Trump reformed the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to improve care, choice, and employee accountability, and over 10,000 federal workers who failed to give our warriors the quality and timely care they so richly deserve were fired.
President Trump approved the VA Choice and VA MISSION Acts to give our heroes the permanent choice to see their local doctor and receive care at non-VA facilities.
During the Trump administration, 3 in 4 veterans saw improvements at their local VA, including shorter wait times and expanded community care options, resulting in historic VA satisfaction levels.
