Fiddler on the Roof to Open at Manatee Players

BRADENTON -- One of the world’s most beloved musicals will open at the new Manatee Performing Arts Center Thursday night. The Manatee Players will present Fiddler on the Roof from May 2 through May 19. The winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, it remains one of Broadway's longest-running shows of all-time.

The original Broadway production, which opened in 1964, was the first musical to reach the 3,000 performance mark, and held the record for longest run for almost 10 years until it was surpassed by Grease.

Performances are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $26-$36 including facility fee for adults, $15 including facility fee for teachers and $13 including facility fee for students.

Tickets may be reserved by calling 941-748-5875 Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour before curtain on performance days, as well as on the Manatee Players’ web­site.

The new Manatee Performing Arts Center is located at 502 3rd Avenue West in downtown Bradenton.
