BRADENTON - The Manatee County Agricultural Museum & Palmetto Historical Park are asking to borrow antique fishing items from members of the community for an upcoming "angling artifact" exhibit.

The exhibit, which will be hosted at Palmetto Historical Park through the months of July, August and September starting on July 20, will display antique items such as "reels, lures, tackle boxes, creels, knives, nets, books, fishing toys, and other fishing treasures from the past that may be hidden away in closets, attics, and garages."

Old photographs associated with local fishing are also being requested. The county asks that photos be scanned and emailed to diane.ingram@manateeclerk.com, with the location and any people in the photo identified.

The borrowed antique items will be secured inside display cases. To volunteer the lending of any items for the exhibit, call Diane Ingram at 941-721-2034.
