Folk Singer Jack Williams Comes to Bradenton for Black Friday Show

Posted

BRADENTON — Acoustic Singer/Songwriter and storyteller Jack Williams will perform a post-Thanksgiving show at the “Building Bridges Coffeehouse” on Friday, November 28. Williams’ music is rooted in his native South Carolina and is shaped by a 65-year career playing folk, rock, jazz, R&B, classical, and popular music from the 1930s to 50s.

As a hired-gun guitarist in the Deep South of the Civil Rights-Easy Rider 1960s, Jack’s bands accompanied the likes of John Lee Hooker, Big Joe Turner, Jerry Butler, Hank Ballard, the Shirelles, and the Del-Vikings.  Williams’ music, enriched from these varied influences, is a truly All-American Southern music. The show is scheduled for 7:00 pm. The Coffeehouse is a program of Manatee Universalist Unitarian Fellowship, 322 15th St. W in downtown Bradenton. A $20 donation is suggested at the door. Refreshments available. Open seating, plenty of parking, and accessible.
