Francis Joseph Dougherty ("Doc") 87, of Palmetto, Florida passed away on November 28, 2024. He was born August 27, 1937, in Glenside, Pennsylvania to Francis and Leona Marie Dougherty.
Over the years, Francis has resided in Glenside, Pennsylvania, Horsham, Pennsylvania, Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Bradenton, Florida, and Palmetto, Florida. Between 1959 to 1965, Francis was enlisted in the United States Army and United States Army Reserves. Francis attended Temple University and Penn State University and received an education in Business Management. He attained numerous positions before ultimately retiring from Philadelphia Electric Company as a Commercial Operations Manager.
He was a Bandleader and Drummer for 'Citations' musical group in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He enjoyed being a youth sports coach and program director in Horsham, Pennsylvania. Francis was a horse enthusiast; And spent many years as an American Red Cross Disaster Services Volunteer.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carole A. Dougherty, son, Thomas C. Dougherty and wife Diane of Moorestown, New Jersey; son, Richard B. Dougherty and wife Marianne of Horsham, Pennsylvania, and son, Bart D. Dougherty of Palmetto, Florida; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
