Fred Robert Boehm, 88, of Bradenton Florida (formerly Kure Beach, NC and Newtown, CT) passed away from natural causes Sunday August 4th 2024 at his home.
Fred was born in Bridgeport, CT, the eldest son of Fritz Robert Boehm of Leipzig Germany, who immigrated to Bridgeport CT and Estelle Ann Boehm (nee O'Donnell), a daughter of Irish immigrants, of Providence RI.
Fred was predeceased by his sister Joan Ann Boehm and his wife Claire Boehm. He was a graduate of Warren Harding High School, Bridgeport CT 1954. Fred worked in sales in various industries including printing and real estate. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1958 – 1964 and was honorably discharged.
Fred's passions included golfing, camping, reading, ballroom dancing and enjoying time with his family.
Fred is survived by his children, Kenneth Robert Boehm of Bradenton, FL, Alison Joan Bridge (Tracy) of Naugatuck, Maureen Ann Bascom of Stafford Springs, CT, his grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Jarett and Brandon Boehm, Quinton Bridge, Sydney Bascom, his brother Bernard Boehm, and his nieces Heidi Boehm-Robillard and Kerri Boehm-Bonnici.
A Memorial Service for sharing of memories with friends and family to gather to Celebrate Fred's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 10 am to 12 pm at Freedom Village: 6501 17th Ave West, Bradenton, FL 34209. The Service will be held in the Lexington building, Jefferson Sun Deck room.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Fred's memory, donations are requested to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
