BRADENTON — A free screening of Phosfate, the 2021 documentary that examines the industrial waste from phosphate mines in Florida and its potential link to cancer clusters, will take place at the next Manatee Patriots meeting on Tuesday, March 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Mixon Fruit Farms.
Follow cancer survivor and documentary filmmaker Erik E. Crown as he tracks down cancer-causing industrial waste from phosphate mines in Florida. Meet the locals who have decided to fight back, even under the scrutiny of phosphate giant Mosaic's security following us as we uncover what everyone in the world should worry about —what's in the water.
In his review of the film, TBT editor Mitch Maley called Phosfate, "an excellent one-stop primer on what is arguably the most critical issue facing our state."
Mixon Fruit Farm is located at 2525 27th St East in Bradenton.
