George William Englert passed away on November 8, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on June 3, 1945, in Rochester, NY, George brought warmth and joy to everyone he encountered. George moved to Florida in 1969 and lived on Terra Ceia Island for the last 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann and shared a remarkable 57 years together. His family was his pride and joy which included son Jon, his wife Amy and their daughter Natalie as well as son Aaron, his wife Erin, and their son Tobias.
In addition to his immediate family, George is survived by his brothers, Stephen and Alfred Englert, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him fondly. George's professional life was marked by dedication and hard work. He spent many years as a tradesman and maintenance worker at Manatee Memorial Hospital and New College. George had a passion for the simple pleasures in life.
He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and contentment by the water. Photography was another of his cherished hobbies; he had a unique eye for capturing moments that would otherwise go unnoticed. Traveling was also a significant part of George's life, as he and Mary Ann explored new places and created unforgettable memories.
Those who knew George would describe him as loving, friendly, and generous. His approach to life was characterized by an open heart and an unshakeable belief in the goodness of people. George's warmth and generosity extended beyond his family and friends, touching the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
