Glenn Alan Hop, age 91, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 while in the care of his daughter Sherry and her husband, Marty. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois. Glenn was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 29, 1933 to Arthur and Delia Hop. Glenn grew up in the Galewood area where he attended Lee High School. It was during that time he met his first wife, Mildred Clement. Together they had five children. As a youth, Glenn played baseball. He was a fanatic of the sport and was a talented player, coming close to playing in the minor leagues. He was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and later in life, after moving to Florida, the Tampa Bay Rays. Glenn also loved anything aeronautic, particularly watching the Blue Angels. Other loves included, traveling to Hawaii numerous times, and his dog, Suelynn, but casino slots topped all! Glenn was a proud UAW member, he drove hi-lo for GM Diesel Equipment, retiring after 30 years of service. One of his last wishes was to live long enough to vote in this past November's presidential election. Mission accomplished! Glenn loved life, his family, and he will be sorely missed.

Glenn will be remembered by his children Doug (Lisa) Hop, Debbie (Jack) Hertel, Sue (Steve) Van't Hof, Sherry (Marty) Debri, and Nancy (Tony) Melinn; 10 Grandchildren: Kinsey (Scott) Parm, Kyle (Julie) Hop, Trevor (Rachel) Hop, and Haley Hop; Patty (Chris) Jander and Jim Hertel; Justin (Ann) Ranson and Hannah (Sam) Daniels; Maree (Spencer) Jackson and Tracy (Troy) Fuhs; and 15 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held at Seabreeze Mobile Estates in Bradenton, Florida on January 7, 2025. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any contributions be made to your local Hospice Care organization.
