MANATE COUNTY — The new Lakewood Ranch Library will officially open to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Friday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m.
The project is the county's first library built in the 21st century and has been a long-anticipated addition to the Lakewood Ranch community. The $17.6 million facility will feature modern design elements and cutting-edge amenities in approximately 25,000 square feet of usable space
“This is an outstanding addition to this community,” said District 5 Manatee County Commissioner Ray Turner. “It will be a center for education and engagement for the East County area for generations to come.”

I love my Braden River library. It will be interesting to see how it is maintained compared to this new one.

I love our libraries and thrilled that LWR has this beautiful facility. Libraries are a tremendous resource for all residents to enjoy! If you haven't visited lately, they are more than books, they bring us together as a community!
