Gregory Lee Kasch, 77, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida, surrounded by his family and the soothing sounds of Yacht Rock. His final moments reflected the warmth and joy he brought to all who knew him.
A proud graduate of Eastwood High School in 1965, Gregory went on to serve his country with distinction in the Navy aboard the USS Hoel during the Vietnam War, earning several medals for his service. After the military, he embarked on a successful entrepreneurial journey, founding Mobile Micro Records. In 2013, he retired to Palmetto, Florida, where he embraced a life of relaxation and community.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. Kasch and Mary "Mickey" Hauck; his stepfather, Thomas Hauck; and his sister, Sandra Bruner-Hurst. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Kasch; his brother, Jim (Marsha) Kasch; sisters, Eve Baldwin and Brenda Hauck; his daughter, Kendra Kasch (Jason Hamilton); sons, Gregory Kasch Jr. and Sean Dillingham; and his grandchild, Bailey Dillingham. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Known for his vibrant personality and zest for life, Gregory found immense joy near the water, whether boating or spending time at the Dog Patch by the Bay. Listening to Jimmy Buffett and Pat Dailey while tooling around Put-in-Bay or floating on his dinghy in the Florida Keys brought him endless happiness. A loyal fan of the University of Michigan, he celebrated life with an infectious spirit that created cherished memories for all who knew him.
A celebration of Gregory's life will be announced at a later date. In honor of his memory, donations may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.T2T.org) or www.HospiceFoundation.org.
May Gregory's legacy of love and laughter continue to inspire those who carry it forward.
