Group to protest offshore oil drilling at beach

BRADENTON -- Local environmentalists will be at Manatee County Beach in mid-February to protest offshore oil drilling.

The Sierra Club and other groups will be at the beach on Anna Maria Island from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13, the group said in a press release.

The protest is called Hands Across the Sand, and people are expected to join hands.

The Web site has information on when and where other protests will take place.
