Harold Jones, Jr.

Harold, born on August 13, 1951, to the late Harold Jones, Sr. and Willie Bea Hicks Jones departed this earth on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Aspire Rehabilitation Center in Bradenton, Florida where he resided for over 20 years.

Harold always had a vivid imagination. He loved to imitate his favorite superheroes. He enjoyed cartoons and comic books. He was an avid reader of science fiction materials. His favorite television channel was the History Channel. He shared historical information about what he had watched in detail.

Harold was educated in Manatee County Schools, graduating from Manatee Vocational Technical School in 1969. Harold lived his entire life in Bradenton and was employed at several fast-food restaurants as a custodian.

He leaves to mourn his passing many family members and friends of the Hicks and Jones families: one maternal aunt, Ms. Doris Hicks, first cousins: Mrs. Sandra Jenkins, Deacon Larry Hicks, Dr. Patricia Grimsley, Mrs. Joann Surrency, Mrs. Jacqueline Lewis, Deacon Bill Grimsley, Mrs. Valerie Robinson, Elder James McMillan, Mr. LeslieMebane, Mr. Keith McMillan, Mr. Marcel Grimsley, Mr. Ralph Hicks, and Mr. Mykel Hicks, many second cousins of the Hicks family and many first and second cousins of the Jones family, notedly Stanley Cameron Davis, Mrs. Loretha Armstrong, and Rev. Johnny Jones.

Harold was reared in a religious family and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church attending Sunday School and Baptist Young People Union (BYPU) later known as Baptist Training Union (BTU) regularly. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Harold (Tank) Jones and Mrs. Willie Bea Hicks Jones, his sister, Vandalia Elaine Jones, grandmothers, Ms. Mary Ivory and Nettie Hicks
