Harriet Tridle Gregory "Mimi", 84, of Bradenton, died unexpectedly on November 29th, 2023. Harriet was not only a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family, she was also a loving friend to all she knew and loved.
Harriet was a multi-generation Floridian born in Bradenton on July 4, 1939, to Harold and Effie (Moree) Tridle. She graduated from Manatee High School, Class of 1957, before studying to earn her associate degree in nursing. Harriet met the eventual love of her life, Gary Gregory, in high school and reunited with him after he was discharged from the Coast Guard. They were married in 1963, settled in Bradenton, and enjoyed 53 years of marriage. During that time, they shared three children (one deceased), grew a successful business and discovered a love for North Carolina mountains.
Though she loved her summers in North Carolina, time reading in the sun, and the beach, Harriet's favorite role was that as a grandparent and great-grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and immensely loved being Mimi, so much so that it was what most people called her! As a grandma, she never failed to love each grandchild fiercely for who they are, supporting them in every way. Harriet deeply loved the Lord and followed Him all her days. She was an active member of The Bridge Church.
Everyone who knew Harriet knew she loved a good long meal, a friend at her side, multiple books at one time, a lengthy browse in a favorite store, and a glass of red wine to finish the day. She was a Southern woman at heart, full of love and sass, sweet tea, and long stories. To know her was to love her.
Harriet will always be remembered for her ability to find and nurture community no matter where she was. She made everyone feel like family, and her lifelong example of fully trusting the Lord.
Her legacy will be with us and will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her and whom she loved. In addition to her parents, Harriet was predeceased by a sister, Judy. Her son Todd Gregory, and her husband Gary Gregory. She is survived by sons Gary Gregory Jr (Greg), and his wife Paula of Bradenton; Lane Gregory, and his wife Wendy of Minneola, TX; grandchildren, Rachel Adams, and her husband Phillip; Jacob Gregory, and his wife Meghan; and Savannah Gregory; great-grandchildren, Nash Michael Adams, and Oban Ronan Gregory.
