BRADENTON - A rally Saturday at the Robinson Preserve will help raise awareness of climate change issues, organizers said in a press release.

The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m. and will be part of more than 3,400 rallies worldwide. It's coordinated by 350.org, and its purpose is to urge world leaders to take fast and effective action on global warming, the release said.

Organizers said this is the first global campaign ever organized around a scientific data point: 350 parts per million of carbon dioxide is the safe upper limit for the atmosphere, according to the latest scientific data.

The Take a Hike for Climate Change Awareness is in partnership with Manatee County Natural Resources Department. Robinson Preserve is in northwest Bradenton at 1704 99th St. NW.
