Hilda Zepka, a spirited and intelligent soul, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, in Bradenton, FL. Born on November 5, 1933, in Manchester, England, Hilda's early years were shaped by the resilience and camaraderie of the 1930s and the wartime era. Her formative education in the English school system instilled a strong foundation that would guide her through an adventurous and fulfilling life.

Hilda made the courageous move across the Atlantic, where she went on to establish both her home and career in the United States. Her sharp mind and attention to detail led her to a successful career as a bookkeeper for various companies. Over the years, Hilda's career evolved, and she eventually became a circulation manager for business publications in Connecticut and later in Atlanta. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of reliability and wit-someone who brought dedication, lightheartedness, and a fiery spirit to the workplace.

Beyond her professional achievements, Hilda lived a life characterized by a deep curiosity about the world and its cultures. She was a true world traveler, exploring Europe far and wide. Her love for travel took her to the sun-kissed beaches of the Caribbean, where she enjoyed many vacations in St. Maarten and St. Barths. The stamps in her passport told tales of adventures in China's ancient cities and the biodiverse haven of the Galapagos Islands. These experiences enriched Hilda's life with stories and memories she cherished and shared with all who knew her.

Hilda's legacy is carried on by her beloved husband, Eugene, who stood by her side as both a partner in love and adventure. Together, they navigated the waters of life with grace and joy. Although Hilda and Gene planted their roots in the United States, her connection to her birthplace remained strong. She is fondly remembered by her family in England, including numerous nieces, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, who will continue to honor her memory across the sea.

Those who knew Hilda speak of her with admiration for her intellect and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Her spirit was a beacon of friendship, drawing people toward her with warmth and genuine interest in their stories. Hilda's life was a testament to the beauty of embracing the world and its people with open arms and an open heart.

As we say goodbye to Hilda, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by love, exploration, and the pursuit of knowledge. Her journey may have come to an end, but the impact she made on the lives she touched will continue to resonate. Hilda's story is not one of conclusion, but rather a beautiful chapter in the ongoing narrative of the family and friends who loved her dearly. Her spirit, much like the destinations she explored, will remain a treasure to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
