Honorable George Kirkendall Brown, Jr. (November 16, 1945 – June 4, 2026) passed away in Bradenton, Florida, at the age of 80. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, George lived a life defined by quiet humility and devotion to his family.

George lived his Christian faith through daily action. He sought no recognition yet earned respect through his selfless generosity and compassion. Leading with patience and integrity, he has made a lasting impact on his community.

A graduate of Florida Atlantic University (BS) and the University of Florida (JD), he served his country and community as a Marine Corps officer, private attorney, and as a county judge for nearly 40 years. He had a rare combination of intelligence and wisdom, yet he measured his success not by titles, but by his commitment to justice and service.

Above all, George’s heart belonged to his family. He and his beloved wife, Margaret, built a home rooted in love and sacrifice for their eleven children: Daniel, Kathleen, Paul, Gregory, Elizabeth, Maureen, Megan, Maria Elena, David, Carlos, and Agustin. He was a dedicated, tireless father and a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren. He also held a deep affection for his sister, Sharon Ludwig, and her family.

George’s influence lives on in the children he raised, the grandchildren he cherished, the hearts he shaped, and the values he passed down. He demonstrated that a life anchored in Christ can be resolute and tender, unyielding in principle yet benevolent in spirit.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 10:00AM at Ss. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, Bradenton, FL with burial following on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, 1:30PM at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
