A road project at the U.S. 301 exit of northbound I-75 will result in the closure of the ramp for a night.

Starting at 11 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, the northbound I-75 ramp at U.S. 301 (Exit 224) will be closed for placement of an overhead sign, the Florida Department of Transportation said in a press release.

Motorists traveling northbound on I-75 and wanting to exit onto U.S. 301 (Exit 224) are advised to exit at County Road 683/Moccasin Wallow Road (Exit 229), turn left on Moccasin Wallow Road, turn left onto southbound I-75 and proceed onto U.S. 301 (Exit 224).

Improvements consist of widening the northbound I-75 exit ramp; constructing one additional left turn lane onto U.S. 301; widening the west approach on U.S. 301 to provide dual left turn lanes onto the southbound I-75 entrance ramp; widening the southbound entrance ramp to receive the dual left turn lanes and merging right turn lane; and widening U.S. 301 on the east approach of 51st Avenue and 60th Avenue East to add one new thru lane and right turn lane.

Other improvements to the interchange include milling and resurfacing, installing new mast arm signal poles and storm sewer lines.
