I want to be very clear with the people of Manatee County about where I stand. I have always stayed true to my core conservative principles and my commitment to doing what is right for Manatee County. But I also believe that effective local government requires leadership that puts the public's trust, accountability, and the well-being of our residents ahead of partisan politics.

There comes a point when doing what is right for our community must matter more than the letter beside someone's name on a ballot. This election is bigger than party lines—it is about restoring integrity, transparency, and a spirit of service to the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners.

We stand at a critical crossroads. For too long, our communities have seen decisions shaped by special interests, out-of-control development, and partisan noise—rather than the everyday needs of the people who call this place home. It’s time to move past business as usual and restore integrity, accountability, and practical leadership to our local government.

That is why I have endorsed three proven leaders as our change candidates: Kelly Kirschner, Reggie Bellamy, and Charles Smith.

As a physician and a public servant, my commitment has always been to protect the health, well-being, and quality of life of our community. As a former County Commissioner, educator, and Executive Director of the Palmetto Youth Center, Reggie has consistently demonstrated what grassroots leadership looks like. He brings a compassionate, results-oriented focus on public safety, infrastructure, and community access that directly improves the lives of working families.

3. Charles Smith

Charles Smith is a steadfast champion for accountability and fair representation. With extensive public service as a former District Commissioner, Charles knows how to ask the tough questions, demand fiscal responsibility, and ensure that every neighborhood has a seat at the table. He refuses to let special interests dictate the future of our county.
