In Memory of Wendy Suarez

Wendy Suarez, assistant principal at Jessie P. Miller Elementary in Bradenton, passed away as a result of an auto accident near Okeechobee last Friday. She was described as an inspirational leader, dedicated to the students of her school.

Suarez, 41, was a counselor at Harlee Middle School, as well as an administrator at Braden River, Daughtrey, Witt, Palmetto, and Tillman Elementary schools before coming to Jessie P. Miller in January of 2011. She will be missed deeply by students, parents, co-workers, family and friends.

Services

  • A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sarasota, 7900 Bee Ridge Road, 34241 
  • A Celebration of Life will be held 2:30 p.m. at Jessie P. Miller Elementary School Cafeteria, 601 43rd St. West, Bradenton, FL 34209


Anyone who is interested in helping may send flowers to the church or bring food (preferably finger food) to the school at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

A Memorial Fund in Wendy's honor is being established and it will be attached to a 5K run being set up by Jessie P. Miller Elementary.

More information about this will come later, but the run is tentatively scheduled for May 11th at Jessie P. Miller.
