Indivisible Manatee to host final No Kings event ahead of midterm voting

Posted

Indivisible Manatee will host one of thousands of events nationwide to energize voters to turn out and make their voices heard ahead of the upcoming midterms.  The final push will take place  Saturday at 637 Cortez Rd. W. from 10 am to 12 noon.

This rally is expected to cover several city blocks and is expected to draw hundreds of concerned citizens from across Manatee County as they wave signs and share words of support with passing motorists.

“Thousands of Manatee County residents have been showing up for our No Kings events over the past two years, joining the millions of other angry voters across the country who are not happy with the direction our country is headed,” explained Liv Coleman, IM spokesperson and founding member of the local organization.  “But this event is our last chance to motivate our friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors to actually DO something about it,” she continued.  The deadline to register to receive a mail-in ballot in Florida is October 22, and IM wants everyone to know that deadline and request a mail-in ballot from the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections.

IM reminds Manatee County residents how important this next election is, both nationally and in our community.

“We will be deciding on our future as we choose who will be leading us at the local, state, and national level,” Coleman said.  “This truly is a pivotal point to fight for our democracy, and every vote counts,” she said.
