International Rowing Events Director To Inspect Planned Rowing Course at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota

SARASOTA--Svetla Otzetova, Events Director of the FISA International Rowing Federation will be in Sarasota next week to inspect the plans for the 2000 meter world-class sprint rowing course at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. She will be honored at a reception at Lido Beach Resort, 700 Ben Franklin Dr., Sarasota on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Ms. Otzetova has responsibility for international competition facilities and coordination of technical aspects of the World Cup and World Championships and for all new regatta courses. She will be joined by a number of U.S. rowing luminaries in this inspection tour.
 
Newly-appointed Facility Manager for Nathan Benderson Park Bob Whitford will also be at Tuesday's reception. He will oversee the construction and operation of the aquatic nature center at Nathan Benderson Park. Mr. Whitford previously was the Facilties and Rowing Manager at Sacramento State Aquatic Center.
