BRADENTON – The Island Branch Library will host 9 special events for school age children this summer, beginning June 12 and continuing through July 31. Seating for all of the events is free and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Everyone is welcome to attend and no registration is necessary.

- Thursday, July 17 at 10:00 a.m. Turtle Watch Lecture
- Thursday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. All About Bugs presented by Parks and Natural Resources
- Thursday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. Lego Day!
The programs on June 19, 26 and July 3, 10 are made possible by generous contributions by the friends of the Island Library
The branch will also present a series of special events for teens this summer. All of the events are free, with seating available on a first come, first serve basis.
- Wednesday, June 11 at 6:00 p.m. Use the AAA Driving Simulator
- Wednesday, June 25 at 6:00 p.m. Teen Craft: Create Recycled Paper
- Wednesday, July 9 at 5:00 p.m. Teen Movie Night (contact library for details)
- Wednesday, July 23 at 6:00 p.m. Teen Craft: Make Your Own Lip Balm/Gloss
