Jimmy moved to Florida at a young age, where he met his wife of 47 years, Rachel Boyette Blair. They faced the world together daily and created many memories. They had two children: Melisa Blair Elliott & Ryan James Robert Blair. They all enjoyed playing the guitar and singing along to the songs written by Jimmy and his children. They also loved fishing at the pier next to the "choo, choo train" (Rossi Park). Jimmy worked as a Supervisor at Tropicana in Bradenton, FL for over 30 years, where he retired. He then worked part-time in retirement at The Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, FL, where he made many friends.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rachel Blair; his daughter, Melisa Elliott, and her husband, Brendon Elliott; his two grandchildren, Lexie Elliott and Austin Elliott; his two brothers, John Blair (Terri) and Donald Black (Jennifer); and his two sisters, Mary Lou Carr (Earnie) and Nancy Griffith (Clyde). He was predeceased by his mother, Lucille Black (Canada), his brother, Hobert Bruce Brown, his sister, Jacqueline Palmer, and his son, Ryan Blair.

Jimmy is now playing his guitar and singing his songs as he reunites with his mother, brother, sister, and son.

A memorial for Jimmy will be held Monday March 11, 2024, 9:30am at The Powel Crosley Estate, 8374 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243.
