James Connelly

James "Jim" Connelly, 66, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on December 13, 2023. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family.

Jim was a loyal and loving friend and father. He was an avid Cleveland sports and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He enjoyed golf, baseball, his mother's stuffed cabbage, and classic western movies. Jim had never met a dog he didn't love, and that didn't love him right back. He could conjure a smile easily with quick quips or a seemingly endless supply of dad jokes.

In his retirement years, Jim enjoyed deep sea fishing and living at the beach. He participated in community service as President of the CDT. In his younger years, he ran around with some old knucklehead friends in Cleveland, Ohio, who could always be counted on for a good time.

He will be so dearly missed by his wife of 42 years, Kelly. Together they raised the three most perfect children: Jason (Kelly), Jennifer (Justin), and Jon (Cassie). And perfect kids create perfect grandkids: Sophia and Roman, who affectionately knew him as 'Papa'. Jim, always leading the way, is survived by his siblings: Debbie (Ron), Carol (Mike), Bernie (Kathy) and Larry (Kelly). He is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie, who will cook him stuffed cabbage for eternity.

A Celebration of Life will be 5-7 PM, Monday, December 18, 2023, at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street W, Bradenton, Florida 34209. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity or cause that moves you. Another celebration will be hosted in Cleveland, Ohio, on a date and at a location yet to be determined.
